My first contact with techno music was in the early 90s. Some friends took me to a club in Emmendingen/ Freiburg called Oktan.
At that time I was strictly into metal and hardcore, organized parties and was a “rock DJ” mixing CDs. so i didn’t feel very comfortable when i crossed the doorframe.
But when I was inside, I felt, that the power of the beat went strictly into my feet. I danced all night.
Later we drove to Frankfurt sometimes, visiting the legendary Omen club. Sven Väth’s livingroom.
I have always been impressed about the vibe in the techno-community. So it was fantastic for me to move to the world’s techno -capital and get in touch with the local house and techno scene.
Here in Berlin I started to rent some old crappy turntables from friends and began to “mix”. Everything on tapes. Hours and hours in my flat. Poor neighbors. It was not only loud; the worst was my so-called mixing. Since that time I had the honor to play in clubs like Tresor, WMF, Rio or Maria and wider.
My sets range from house, elektro over minimal to straight techno. I try to play what I love and what makes the crowd happy. Biggest honor and challenge is a full dance floor and happy faces. Dancing must be fun.
2004 I began to organize after-hours and club nights in Berlin. Some illegal, some semi legal, some legal like the monthly club nights in the Golden Gate club, that will change to vidab label nights from march 2007.
2005 I started producing. First with an old Roland drum machine, later with korg electribes and now altogether with music programs.
